We are MOVIESTAR

There are bands that are quite ordinary and traditional and there are those that are, well, quite unique. Norway’s Moviestar definitely fall into the latter camp.”

- Musicmusingsandsuch

The three members of Moviestar claim to originate from the distant future. Infinity Vik, Anaconda and The Octopus Goddess make music in the genre of Sci-Fi Rock, but you might recognise it as a new incarnation of Art Punk Pop, reminiscent of bands like Television, B52’s and LCD Soundsystem etc. Add a heap of playfulness and anti extreme pretentiousness, you may begin to imagine the sound of their debut album,
Stupid People Happy Days, due to be released in 2017.

The band landed the spaceship Moviestar in Norway, but started their career touring in the UK, France and The States. Norway has been a sanctuary for the trio, seeing as they needed rest after traveling from the far, far future. They look very young, but they are extremely old. They are very small, but sound extremely big. They may appear foolish, but they are extremely wise.

«Some might call them ‘quirky’ whilst others might grope for different synonyms. You cannot deny they stand out from the crowd and bring character, colour and oddity into music.»

Their live shows encompass performance, art, storytelling, fashion and music in a whole new transcending form. Infinity Vik is a true performance queen with an explosive stage presence. A female incarnation of David Bowie, Freddy Mercury and James Brown.

Moviestar is like nothing you have ever seen before! No wonder, since they in fact are from the future...

“I haven't heard anything that quirky in a long time! What does it sound like? Like Goldfrapp meets the Sex Pistols, with a splash of the B52s."

- Naked Nick from the successful dub-psycedelia band Ott And The All Seeing Eye

“By the time I’d watched the first few seconds of their video Monroe (bearded ladies, men in sequinned hot pants AND Adam Ant-esque face paint?) I realised that Norwegian band Moviestar were exactly what Stroud has been waiting for. “
